Hello!
I'm Sophie Walker and I am the artist behind the vibrant illustrations you can see here on my website, or on my various social media platforms.
Here are some facts about me!
I married Andrew in 2019 and we have three wonderful daughters together - Lottie born in 2021, Bea born in 2023 and our newest addition Florence in 2025.
We have a cat called Merlin.
I first earned a degree in animation before becoming a primary school teacher.
I taught myself to sew and actually sold handmade children's clothes for a while!
I always loved to draw and paint and in 2024 I began to reignite this passion through both traditional and by teaching myself to create on the ipad.
With time I have developed and found my style. Whilst it is always evolving and I am constantly striving to improve my skill I love to play with colour and texture in my work.
I particularly love stories involving nature and all things magical, seeing a story come to life through pictures is incredible and knowing my illustrations could help inspire a love of reading in children fills me with so much joy!
When not hiding behind my ipad, you will find me spending time with friends and family. Enjoying days out making memories and cooking new recipes to tempt the girls into eating their vegetables. I also love a good bubble bath with a book or cuddles on the sofa with either my girls or Merlin the cat, who is so fluffy I now have to give him a daily brush!
